8–64 characters: letters, digits, symbols and spaces. There is no rule about mixing character types, but common passwords such as 12345678 or password and repeated or sequential characters are not accepted. This password is the only way to open your question again. If choosing one is hard, press “Generate a random password” (it is created in this browser and is not sent or stored anywhere before you submit). Do not reuse a password from another site.

Privacy notice for this form

  • Collected: question type, title, message, the post password and the deletion recovery code (stored only as irreversible values), and a hash of your IP address for abuse prevention (the original IP is not stored).
  • Purpose: receiving and answering questions, investigating and improving the service, preventing abuse.
  • Retention: until you or the operator delete the question. Deleting removes it immediately; it may remain in disaster-recovery history for up to 30 days. Abuse-prevention records expire after 2 days.
  • Processor: Cloudflare, Inc. (United States) is used for storage and spam protection.
  • Users under 14: please write your question together with a parent or guardian. Do not enter unnecessary personal information such as your name or contact details in the message.

After you submit, a deletion-only recovery code is shown once. If you forget the password, the code lets you delete that question, but it cannot be used to view or edit it. If you lose both the password and the code you cannot delete the question yourself (you can ask by email, but we may be unable to delete it if we cannot verify you are the author).
