How to use
- Choose one image.
- Pick a ratio (free, 1:1, 4:3, 16:9 and so on, or custom). Drag the box on the photo to move it, and drag the circles on its corners and edges to resize it.
- If you need exact values, type them into the number fields below (position, width and height in pixels), or focus the box or a circle with the keyboard and press the arrow keys (hold Shift to move 10 pixels at a time).
- Choose the output format, click [Crop], and download the result.
Example
To make a profile picture from a landscape photo, choose "1:1" as the ratio, drag the box over the person, and click [Crop]. If the result must match a specific size, continue with Resize Images, and to make the file smaller use Compress Images.

Supported formats, limits and privacy
- Input: JPG, PNG and WebP (HEIC only in browsers that support it). Output: JPG, PNG and WebP (only formats your browser supports are shown). One image at a time, up to 30 MB per file and about 50 megapixels.
- The crop is based on the photo as it looks with its stored rotation (EXIF orientation) applied. The area you see on screen is the area you get.
- Cropping copies the original pixels as they are and does not resize or resample them. If you need a specific output size, crop first and then use Resize Images.
- If a locked ratio does not land on whole pixels, it is rounded to the nearest pixel (for example a 16:9 area can differ by up to 0.5 pixel). A custom ratio is two whole numbers from 1 to 1000.
- The original EXIF metadata (shooting location, camera information and so on) is not copied into the result. ToolMoru information is recorded automatically in the result file: Software and CreatorTool (ToolMoru) plus the site address (toolmoru.com) in JPG and PNG, and CreatorTool (ToolMoru) plus the site address in WebP. Display-related technical details that the browser adds when saving, such as the color space, may remain.
- All processing happens inside your browser, and nothing is uploaded to a server.
Frequently asked questions
How do I crop to a square?
Choose 1:1 as the ratio and the box always stays square. Drag it to the position you want and click [Crop]. This works well for profile pictures and square posts.
Does cropping reduce quality?
The pixels in the cropped area are copied from the original without shrinking or enlarging them. Saving as JPG or WebP compresses the image again, so a very small loss can occur, while PNG is lossless. You can adjust the quality under Advanced options.
Does the cropped photo keep the shooting location?
No. The result file is built fresh from the pixels drawn on screen, and the original location data (GPS) and camera information are not copied. Instead, the ToolMoru name and site address are recorded in the file properties.
