Pages to rotate

How to use

  1. Select one PDF file. A diagram shows the current orientation of each page and how it will look after rotating.
  2. Choose the rotation angle (90° clockwise, 180°, or 90° counterclockwise).
  3. Choose whether to rotate all pages or only some pages, and if only some, enter the range (e.g. 2, 4-6).
  4. Click [Rotate] and download the resulting PDF.

Example

If page 3 came out flipped because it went into the scanner upside down, choose "Only some pages", enter "3", and rotate it by 180°. For a whole document that was scanned sideways, fix it with "All pages" and 90°. To save only the pages you need after rotating, continue with Extract & Split PDF Pages.

Supported formats, limits and privacy

  • Input: one PDF (up to 100 MB). PDFs that are password-protected or damaged, and PDFs that exceed the memory this device can safely use, are rejected with a reason when you add them. If processing takes longer than 10 seconds, it is stopped and you are notified.
  • Rotation does not redraw the page content; it only changes the page rotation property of the PDF. Pages that are already rotated have the angle added to them (e.g. currently 90° + 90° = 180°).
  • If the range goes beyond the total number of pages or the format is wrong, nothing runs and the reason is shown.
  • The whole PDF is saved again, so digital signatures in the original may become invalid. Rotation is not a tool for removing information, so the original form fields, bookmarks, document information and so on remain as they are. Once a rotation has started, it cannot be canceled partway (it usually takes a few seconds).
  • All processing happens inside your browser, and files are not uploaded to a server. The PDF processor (qpdf, WebAssembly) is downloaded the first time you add a file in a PDF tool, and the browser cache is used after that.

Frequently asked questions

I cannot tell which pages are upside down.

Thumbnails of the page content are not provided; instead each page shows a diagram of its current orientation and its expected orientation after rotating (shape, top and angle). After rotating, open the PDF in a PDF viewer to check, and rotate again from the original if needed. Your original file is not changed.

Does rotating reduce the quality?

No. Images are not recreated and only the orientation information is changed, so image quality and text quality stay the same.

Can I rotate only some pages?

Choose "Only some pages" and enter something like "2, 4-6".
