How to use
- Select 2 to 20 photos for the collage. The preview appears at the top.
- On the [Layout] tab choose the aspect ratio and an arrangement (even grid, uneven mosaic, hero + supporting, strip), then check the output size, format, quality and the estimated file size. “Suggested” marks the arrangements that crop your photos the least.
- Work directly on the preview. Drag a photo to move it, spread two fingers to zoom, or press and hold then drag it onto another cell to swap. Tap a photo for its replace and remove menu.
- On the [Style] tab set the margin, spacing, corners, border, background colour, a frame and stickers.
- Press [Create collage] at the bottom of the screen to download it. The output size and format summary is visible on both tabs.
Example
Gather 6 trip photos with the “Hero + supporting” arrangement and your favourite first photo gets the big cell. To change the hero, press and hold the photo you want and drag it onto the first cell. If an edge is cropped, drag the photo to adjust it; rounded corners, a polaroid frame and a few stickers give a postcard feel.
Output size guide
For social posts a square (1:1) or 3:4 at about 2,048 px is plenty. For screen backgrounds choose 16:9 or 9:16 at 3,000 px or more. The estimated file size appears with the size you pick, and lowering the quality of JPG or WebP makes the file smaller.
Supported formats, limits and privacy
- Input: JPG, PNG, WebP (and HEIC where your browser can open it). 2 to 20 photos, up to 30 MB each, about 50 megapixels or less. Output: JPG, PNG, WebP (only formats your browser supports are shown).
- There are four kinds of arrangements. The even grid splits the photos as evenly as possible into rows so there are no empty cells; the uneven mosaic and hero + supporting arrangements have cells of different sizes (the first photo gets the big cell); a strip puts all photos in one line. Arrangements that do not fit the number of photos and the output size are not offered, and with 10 or more photos the even grid is the default.
- “Fill the cell” keeps the proportions, fills the cell and crops the overflowing edges (choose the visible part by dragging and zooming). “Show whole photo” never crops and centres the photo in the cell; leftover space shows the background colour.
- Margin, spacing and border width are percentages of the output’s shorter side, and the corner radius is a percentage of a cell’s shorter side (0 to 50%), so the preview and the saved file look the same.
- Choose the output size from 1,080 to 4,096 px on the long side. The area is automatically reduced to 16,000,000 pixels or less to stay within mobile browsers’ canvas limits. When saving, each photo is read again at its original resolution, one at a time.
- Photo gestures: drag = position, spread two fingers (mouse: Ctrl+wheel) = zoom (up to 400%), press and hold then drag = swap photos, tap a photo = menu. Zoom and position follow each photo when you swap. The page does not scroll while your finger is inside the preview, so swipe outside it to scroll. Keyboard: bracket keys select a photo, arrow keys move it, plus and minus zoom, and the menu buttons replace, remove or swap.
- Stickers are drawn by us as vectors; pick from 24 and add up to 20. Drag to move them, change size and rotation, or delete them, and they are drawn in the same place in the saved file. There are 6 frames (including none), and a frame shrinks the photo area inward.
- The estimated file size is a range worked out by really encoding a small sample, so it can differ from the real size (PNG varies a lot with the photo content). After saving, the real size is shown exactly.
- A transparent background is kept only for PNG and WebP. JPG is saved with a white background. The original EXIF metadata (shooting location, camera details, etc.) is not copied to the result, and ToolMoru information is written to it automatically.
- All processing happens in your browser and nothing is uploaded to a server.
Frequently asked questions
How do I swap two photos?
Press and hold the photo, then drag it onto another cell. You can also tap a photo and use [Swap with previous] or [Swap with next] in its menu. Each photo’s zoom and position move with it.
Can I change which part of a photo is visible in its cell?
Yes. Drag the photo in the preview, spread two fingers (on a mouse hold Ctrl and use the wheel) or use the arrow and plus keys to zoom. Tap the photo and use [Reset position and zoom] in its menu to go back.
The page does not scroll when I touch the preview on my phone.
Inside the preview, photo gestures take priority, so the page does not scroll there. Swipe outside the preview (the tabs and options area) and the page scrolls as usual.
Does “Suggested” use AI?
No. It is a rule-based mark that compares your photos’ proportions with each cell shape and ranks arrangements by how little gets cropped. You can still pick any other arrangement.
Is the estimated file size exact?
It is a rough range. It is worked out by encoding a small sample of the current picture with the chosen size, format and quality, so it can differ from the real size depending on the photo; the real size is shown after saving.
Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. Reading, combining and saving all happen inside your browser.
